About Us

The team of the Hong Kong Emerging Content Creators Association consists of professionals from the film industry. We have previously collaborated on the "mm2 Movie Makers Awards”, selecting and supporting new directors, and have produced and distributed films such as "Drifting", "The Narrow Road”, and "Back Home”. Therefore, we have decided to officially establish this association to extend our ideas and services to other positions and creative industries. We aim to bring new talents to the Hong Kong creative industry, bridge the gap between emerging creators and the industry, and provide more equal opportunities for them.

The term "emerging" does not have age or gender restrictions. It refers to creators who have had relevant experience and potential but have not fully entered the industry. If you are an emerging artist, we welcome your participation in our upcoming events. If you are an experienced creator in the industry, please join us in shaping a more equitable and open creative environment!

Producer and Screenwriter

“I understand that in our work - doesn't matter whether it's acting or writing - what's important isn't fame or glamour, none of the things I used to dream about, it's the ability to endure.”
- Anton Chekhov, "The Seagull"

On the journey from screenwriting to producing, for me, it involves a great deal of patience and waiting. Especially as a screenwriter, waiting for work, waiting for production, waiting for the moment when actors read the lines of the script. The process of waiting can be gruelling, not knowing when the end will come, and the realities of life can erode dreams. Many people reach a point where they no longer want to wait and calmly let go of their ideas, turning away. We know that many Hong Kong screenwriters simply love writing and find joy in the belief that they can sustain themselves by writing every day. Perhaps, in Hong Kong, what is most needed to be a screenwriter is not just writing talent but also the ability to endure and wait.

Maybe one day, the writers involved in this project will have to set aside their own writing dreams and live a mundane life. But our humble hope is that this project, to some extent, can extend the time for everyone to pursue their dreams. In this pressure-filled city of Hong Kong, creating a space for ten writers who have been waiting and enduring, allowing them to write a great screenplay.
